Support for Children Continues in 2025 with 3 Camp Forget-Me-Not Dates
Our Camp Forget-Me-Not program for grieving children and teens continues in 2025 with three Camp dates set. The first Camp will be held in Walton on Thursday, July 24th, the second being held in Oneonta on Thursday, August 21st, and the third in Cooperstown on Saturday, September 27th.
Camp Forget-Me-Not is a free day-camp open to any child ages 6-12 or teen ages 13-18 who lives in Otsego, Delaware or Schoharie counties. Camp is always free for children and you do not need to be affiliated with Helios Care or hospice to register your child. Helios Care, formerly Catskill Area Hospice, has continued the Camp Forget-Me-Not program for more than 30 years.
Our children are our future. Grief changes as we age and reach important milestones throughout life, such as birthdays, holidays, graduations, etc. Children may feel the absence of their loved ones as they get older and reach these milestones. Camp Forget-Me-Not teaches children how to understand their grief, now and in the future.
Programs like Camp provided by Helios Care are made possible by generous donations from our donors: community members, organizations, and foundations. Two foundations in particular have designated their donations be made to help fund our Camps in 2025. The Lucky Duck Foundation and the Eldred Foundation are helping to ensure that this program continues for the grieving children in our shared communities. Together, we are helping to build a foundation of support for each camper and provide healing to those who need it most.

At each Camp Forget-Me-Not, children will have the opportunity to make new friends, express their feelings in a safe and supportive environment, play games, do fun crafts, and learn beneficial ways to help cope with grief under the guidance of Helios Care’s grief support team. Parents & guardians are also encouraged to attend the adult support group later during the day, where guardians can meet with the Helios Care staff and other parents to share their own personal experiences, gain emotional support, ask questions, and learn coping skills that were shared throughout the day.
The registration deadline for the Walton Camp Forget-Me-Not is Monday, July 14th. Please fill out the interest form online here to begin registration!
