Hudson Highlands Retread Motorcycle Club Makes $2,500 Donation
On Monday, August 4th, the Hudson Highlands Retread Motorcycle Club rode into the Helios
Care office and made a $2,000 donation to Helios Care and a $500 donation to the local
Alzheimer’s Association! These contributions stem from the club’s annual fundraisers and the
steady support of its dedicated members.
To date, Helios Care (formerly Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care) has received over
$20,000 from the group, with the first donation dating back to 1994. Their ongoing generosity
reflects not only a passion for riding but also a deep-rooted belief in giving back to their
community.
“We feel good about raising money for local organizations. The money stays right here and goes
to help our neighbors.”, said Betty Slavinski, President of the Hudson Highlands Club.
“We look forward to this every year. We love to see the Spyder Motorcycles come in and park at
our Helios Care door.” said Kathryn Dailey, Director of Development at Helios Care. “Our new
CEO, Joan MacDonald, even got to ride on one of the Spyders!”
Unrestricted donations made by local groups are essential for Helios Care to provide services in
our community that are not reimbursable by insurance. These types of services include spiritual
care, massage therapists, bereavement support and counseling, as well as the Kids Camp
Forget-Me-Not for children who have lost a loved one.
